Digital Media Manager
Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF)
Position Overview
The Digital Media Manager is a hands‑on, execution-focused role responsible for designing, producing, and managing all visual communications and digital media for Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF).
This individual serves as the primary designer and content creator for the organization, personally executing the full lifecycle of creative projects—from concept through final production—across print, digital, email, social media, and web platforms.
In addition to design responsibilities, this role manages SOWF’s website, email marketing, social media presence, print production, and vendor relationships, ensuring all materials are visually compelling, on‑brand, and aligned with SOWF’s mission and fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Graphic Design & Creative Execution
Personally design and produce all SOWF visual assets, including:
Event invitations, programs, signage, and collateral
Sponsorship materials and donor presentations
Campaign assets and fundraising appeals
Logos and branding for events and initiatives
Scholarship & Family Outreach materials (internal and external)
Execute all design work in‑house (not outsourced) with a high level of quality and attention to detail
Maintain and apply brand standards consistently across all platforms
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously from concept through final delivery
2. Print Production & Direct Mail
Design and manage production of two major annual direct mail appeals:
Memorial Day Appeal
Veterans Day Appeal
Prepare files for print, coordinate with vendors, and oversee production timelines
Ensure quality control of all printed materials
Collaborate with Development on messaging and campaign execution
3. Email Marketing & SOWFocus Newsletter
Manage SOWF’s Constant Contact platform, including:
List management and segmentation
Campaign creation, scheduling, and deployment
Design and produce the SOWFocus newsletter (bi‑monthly):
Layout, graphics, and formatting
Integration of content from Development and Programs
Track performance metrics and optimize engagement
4. Social Media (Design, Scheduling & Posting)
Design all social media graphics and visual content
Write, schedule, and publish posts across all SOWF platforms
Maintain a consistent content calendar aligned with campaigns, events, and organizational priorities
Ensure brand consistency and visual quality across all social channels
Monitor engagement and adjust content strategy as needed
5. Website Management & Optimization
Fully manage the SOWF website, including:
Design, layout, and user experience
Content updates and new page creation
Event pages and campaign landing pages
Maintain integration with DonorPerfect and donation tools
Ensure website is optimized for:
Donor conversion
Mobile responsiveness
Clear storytelling and navigation
6. Swag, Storefront & Vendor Management
Design and procure all SOWF branded merchandise
Manage relationships with printers, promotional vendors, and production partners
Oversee inventory, ordering, and quality control
Manage and maintain the SOWF online storefront
7. Event & Development Support
Design and produce all event‑related materials, including:
Invitations and digital assets
Event programs and signage
Sponsor recognition materials
Support Development efforts through compelling visual storytelling and campaign materials
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–5+ years of hands‑on design and digital media experience
Strong portfolio demonstrating both print and digital design work
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (required)
Experience with:
Website management (WordPress or similar)
Email platforms (Constant Contact or similar)
Social media scheduling tools (Hootsuite)
CRM systems (DonorPerfect preferred)
Strong understanding of print production and file preparation
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
