Position Description & Qualifications
Serco North America is seeking a high-potential Public Relations & Executive Voice Specialist to help shape how we tell our story with credibility, clarity, and purpose.

This role partners closely with the VP of Marketing & Communications to strengthen Serco’s reputation through media engagement, compelling storytelling, and authentic executive voice. You will identify, shape, coordinate, and communicate Serco stories for earned media, executing across media relations, executive communications, and thought leadership while learning how to operate as a trusted advisor.

This will be a hybrid work schedule out of our Herndon, VA office.

In this role you will:
Media Relations & Speaker Preparation

Support development of media engagement strategies

Prepare executives for media interviews, speaking engagements, and panels with clear, fact-based materials

Draft and shepherd press releases, media briefs, Q&A documents, and messaging that reflect both leadership voice and organizational priorities

Build and maintain relationships with journalists

Awards & Recognition

Identify and manage submissions for industry awards and recognition programs

Develop nominations that clearly tell the story of impact, outcomes, and organizational value

Ensure submissions reflect strong strategic thinking, measurable results, and ethical communication standards

Story Development & Storytelling

Identify and develop stories that highlight real mission impact, innovation, and people across the enterprise

Create press materials, pitches, and content

Align stories to business priorities, and adapt to target audiences

Executive Voice & Thought Leadership

Support development of authentic executive voice across channels (LinkedIn, speeches, media, internal communications)

Draft and edit content that reflects each leader’s voice while maintaining consistency with company messaging

Help leaders communicate clearly, transparently, and credibly with key audiences

Contribute to enterprise thought leadership that strengthens Serco’s reputation and market position

To be successful in this role, you will have:

U.S. Citizenship required

A Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum 5 years of experience in public relations, communications, media, and/or journalism

Experience in media relations, storytelling, or executive communications

Exceptional writing and editing skills with an emphasis on clarity, accuracy, and narrative strength

Strong understanding of the media landscape and what makes a story relevant

Ability to translate complex ideas into simple, engaging, and truthful communications

Strong relationship-building skills across media, leadership, and internal stakeholders

High level of professionalism, judgment, and attention to detail

Experience applying style guidelines

Ability to travel up to 10%

Exposure to corporate or government contracting environments preferred
