Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a North America Regional Category Manager – Flat Steel to join our team. This position can be based at any Eaton site across the continental U.S. with a hybrid work schedule. If the candidate does not live within a 50‑mile radius of an Eaton site, remote work may be considered. The expected annual salary range for this role is $113,000 – $165,000 a year. Salaries are based on the candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do
Position Overview: Within our supply‑chain, the Regional Category Manager, Flat Steel will support the development and deployment of the global category strategy for Flat Steel in the North American region. The RCM will lead the management of approximately $280 million in Flat Steel spend, driving category performance toward optimal conditions (cost, commercial, working capital, quality, delivery, resiliency, and VAVE) by leveraging synergies across businesses and driving the “One Eaton” philosophy through collaboration with business stakeholders, operations and centers of excellence (ESSP, Should‑Cost, DMP, One Part, etc.). The RCM will be accountable for supplier relationship and performance management, leading supplier negotiations, business reviews and resolving all supply issues. This position will also support category continuous‑improvement initiatives to achieve procurement excellence and manage our largest regional category spend supporting the Electrical Americas and Crouse Hinds / B‑Line businesses in North America.

Job Responsibilities

Develop strategy and connected strategic initiatives to facilitate cross‑business synergies across a rationalized set of regional preferred supplier partners.

Negotiate and manage key strategic supplier contracts and relationships.

Review, approve, monitor and report compliance to category agreements and strategies based upon Eaton SCM strategic directions.

Lead Supplier Business Reviews with strategic suppliers.

Develop innovative business solutions, forecast commodity projections and provide mitigation actions as applicable to ensure key metrics for the procurement function (Cost Out, DPO, Diversity Spend, etc.) are achieved.

Develop and present regional communication plans and share new planning tools, methods, technical analysis, standards and procurement opportunities with senior management that are aligned with SCM/Eaton strategic plans and cost‑reduction initiatives.

Benchmark procurement processes to develop and implement best practices throughout Eaton and Supply‑Chain Management.

Ensure compliance of suppliers with Eaton SCM Sustainability Programs, and SCM policies.

Plan, prepare and execute annual profit planning for the owned spend, and support execution with the business cross‑functional teams.

Support flex in the Category scope following acquisitions or divestitures in the business.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 6 years’ professional experience in Supply Chain or Operations.

Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Skills / Position Criteria

Communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with senior management, suppliers and operations personnel.

Demonstrate negotiation skills – ability to drive results via fact‑based negotiations.

Ability to manage cost‑out projects against scope, schedule and budget.

Ability to be a technology leader and push forward digitization with the team.

Background in carbon steel, stainless steel, and/or other metals category management is preferred.

Knowledge of the category management and ability to identify technology and economical trends within the steel category.

Demonstrates knowledge and experience in successfully deploying category strategies and driving cost‑out.

Creative thinking skills to produce new approaches in category management and implement emerging tools.

Superior data management and analysis capabilities in support of quoting and pricing analysis.
