Job Description
The Technical PED Report Writer / Analyst conducts advanced analysis of digitally exploited materials (DOMEX) and produces intelligence reports in support of operational and strategic requirements. This role supports the full PED (Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination) lifecycle, transforming raw forensic data into actionable intelligence for decision-makers.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct data querying and analysis to support intelligence reporting, including link analysis, geospatial analysis, pattern-of-life, and time/event analysis
Perform data visualization using tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Esri ArcGIS, and IBM Analyst’s Notebook
Analyze and exploit DOMEX data derived from digital forensic tools including Cellebrite Physical Analyzer, XRY/XAMN, Magnet AXIOM, and similar platforms
Produce PEDSUMs and intelligence reports based on CELLEX/MEDEX exploitation conducted by forensic examiners
Serve as a Data Transfer Authority (DTA), transferring Collectible Exploitable Material (CEM) from air-gapped networks to DoD enterprise systems in accordance with established SOPs
Clean, validate, and transfer exploitation results to classified enterprise environments for discoverability and operational use
Compare and review forensically collected data, identify discrepancies, flag anomalies, and provide recommendations
Identify new data sources and integrate them into analytic workflows to enhance intelligence outputs
Support development, testing, and evaluation of analytic tools with J2/I2O teams, focusing on automation, workflow improvement, and efficiency gains
Conduct research and support tool development efforts to enhance exploitation and reporting capabilities
Gather, analyze, and evaluate information from multiple sources, assessing reliability and significance
Maintain data records, case files, and reporting documentation in accordance with mission requirements
Identify threats of national security significance and ensure timely dissemination of critical intelligence to stakeholders and decision-makers
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with
8 years of specialized experience , OR
8+ years of directly relevant experience
in technical exploitation reporting and analysis
Qualifying experience includes (but is not limited to):
Analysis of data derived from forensic investigations
Production of MEDEX, CELLEX, VIDEX, DOMEX, TECHEx, or similar intelligence reports
Experience leveraging forensic tools and applications to triage and extract relevant data from computers, mobile devices, and other digital media
Supporting or directing development of tools/applications to process and analyze exploited data
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting organizations such as:
National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC)
FBI Terrorist Explosive Device Analytical Center (TEDAC)
Other government entities conducting Identity Intelligence (I2) exploitation
Experience supporting:
DoD senior-level commands
Joint Intelligence Centers (JIC)
Major Joint or Combined Task Force
