The Account Manager maintains and expands relationships with important key customer accounts (10 to 12 named customers). Account Manager is responsible for achieving sales growth and assigned account objectives.
The Account Manager represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers, while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customer needs and expectations are met by Omaha Steel.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Establishes productive, professional and respectful relationships with internal coworkers.
Establishes productive, professional and respectful relationships with key external personnel in assigned key customer accounts.
Coordinates internally with Accounting, Quality, Engineering, Operations and Management personnel to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations.
Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and objectives with assigned key customer accounts.
Proactively leads an account planning process that develops performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones for a one and three-year period between key customer accounts and Omaha Steel.
Proactively assesses, clarifies and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary internal and external company personnel.
All communications with customers and prospects captured within CRM tool.
Supports Business Development Director and Management on all key accounts, from day‑to‑day service, to development of project plans, implementations, meetings and overall service to the customer.
Responsible for key customer accounts.
Regional sales support as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES
Achieves assigned sales growth objectives.
Achieves assigned quarterly and annual metrics for customer contact via telephone calls, verbal and written communication, and number of meetings.
Achieves customer objectives as defined by Management.
Completes key customer account plans in accordance with company standard.
Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings.
Provide tracking data and reporting of activity, including, but not limited to information on leads, account management, open quoted opportunities, and sales bookings as assigned.
Ensure the timely and successful delivery of OSCC solutions according to the customer needs and objectives.
Prospect defined and agreed upon market verticals.
Clear communication and updates regarding the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Performance Indicators fully worked and executed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Must have project management skills.
Must work well under pressure and have the ability to prioritize, multi‑task and handle variable workloads.
Must have the ability to develop and foster constructive and productive relationships internally with coworkers and externally with customers.
Must demonstrate initiative and follow‑up on pending deliverables.
Must have the ability to travel 20‑30 %.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or Communications, or 3‑5 years in related field.
Proficient PC skills - Internet, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), CRM data entry.
Proven understanding of sales and marketing principals.
Knowledge of manufacturing, machining and sales. Knowledge of casting or foundry industry preferred, but not required.
Must be familiar with finance, selling and time management principles.
Must possess strong communications skills, with logical and organized verbal, written, listening and presentation skills.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and with continued positive and professional behavior.
Must have demonstrated ability to institute targeted sales strategies with tactical execution.
Must have reliable attendance, willingness to work flexible or long hours.
