Role Overview
The main function of the Web Developer is to design, code, and create system specifications; analyze, evaluate, test, debug, document, and implement complex software applications.
Responsibilities
Design, code, test, document, implement, and maintain application programs and interfaces
Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity, limitations, operating time, and desired results
Modify, install, and prepare technical documentation for system software applications
Monitor systems capacity and performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures, and provide technical support
Identify, elevate, and document production impact issues
Evaluate user requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current systems and capabilities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field required
2–4 years experience required
Verbal and written communication skills, problem‑solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues
Knowledge of computer hardware and software
Knowledge of end‑to‑end systems development life cycles
Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.
Expertise with COBOL, MVS, CICS, JCL, or other mainframe tools and utilities
Develop and maintain scalable front‑end applications using React
Build and optimize back‑end services and APIs using C# (.NET)
Design and manage relational databases using SQL Server
Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes environments
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver end‑to‑end solutions
Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Fast learner, able to ramp up with internal tools and processes quickly
Education / Experience
2–4 overall years of experience in the field
A degree is preferable for this role as it focuses more on experience.
Top 3 Requirements
Full‑stack web development (React + backend services)
DevOps experience such as CI/CD
Cloud development experience
Typical Day
The team is responsible for building internal portals that support the Index Server team’s tools, along with developing the foundational infrastructure for the portal platform. Day‑to‑day work spans full‑stack portal development—client‑side and server‑side components—as well as infrastructure engineering and cross‑team collaboration.
