Location: Must be able to report to the facility located in Longmont, Colorado.
Position will expire on March 15th, 2024.
Position Overview

Project Engineers work as part of the Production Engineering team to take projects from the Design and Fabrication Engineering team and prepare all programs, BOM’s and collateral needed for Mill and Bench hand-offs.
Responsibilities

Mill Packages

CNC Geometry
Cut lists
Ardis Programs
Material Take-offs
Parts Lists
Applicable Shop Drawings and Rhino models
Organization of all hand-off packages and maintenance of all related files with the Production Engineering File Structure.
Mill Fabrication Strategies

Understand CNC machine constraints and strategies, incorporate into fixture designs.
Design and develop models and drawings for all required CNC fixtures.
Develop 3 Axis and 5 Axis Mastercam programs for CNC machining using CWKA machining standards.
Peer review Mastercam programs developed by other production engineers.
Check with the mill routinely to understand program efficiency, make adjustments that improve speed of work.
Bench Fabrication Strategies

Review submittal drawings and determine outstanding fabrication details that may need to be developed for outside vendors or internal shop team.
Review all materials specified and sourced for the job, adjust based on material specifications or limitations.
Work with the Project Coordinator and develop all Shop Hand-off drawings and models needed for Shop Work Orders.
Check with the bench routinely to understand the efficiency of fabrication strategies, make adjustments that improve speed of work.
Engineering

On occasion projects will require the Production Engineer to produce Fabrication Engineering collateral to support drawing submittal deadlines.
Work with the Lead Design Engineer to support the development of submittal drawings and models using Rhino.
Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate is well-versed in digital fabrication and motivated to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications

A professional degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or relevant vocational training and certification.
5+ years of experience in Architectural Fabrication or a related industry.
Advanced knowledge of Rhino 3D.
Experience using Grasshopper or Rhinoscript for parametric modeling and automation.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Strong organization skills.
Exceptional knowledge of digital fabrication and construction methods.
Experience generating or reviewing detailed shop drawings.
A high degree of self-motivation, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
Ability to work independently and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision.
Experience programming in Mastercam for 3 and 5 axis machining.
