Job Description
The Commercial Account Manager II is responsible for providing dealership and internal customer service, acting as a liaison between GM Financial Commercial Lending Services (CLS) and Sales teams, and coordinating and managing all floorplan account related requests. The role involves assessing risk using internal reports, financial statements, bank statements, and floorplan audit results, ensuring corporate compliance and risk management, and communicating with dealership personnel, GMF leadership, and internal/external stakeholders. The position serves a geographically assigned portfolio of dealers.
In This Role You Will
Act as the central point of contact for all internal and external customer commercial lending requests or inquiries
Coordinate and manage dealership or GM Financial requests and inquiries to completion
Communicate regularly with dealership owners to discuss trends and identify additional GMF business opportunities
Perform financial analysis using monthly operating reports or financial statements on assigned dealers
Monitor and manage the assigned portfolio using data sourced internally and externally
Recognize and proactively manage risk, developing actionable plans and escalating to CLS leadership and the Special Assets team as needed
Apply data analysis to solve complex or unusual situations, gaining a better understanding of customer operations and providing a consultative approach in support
Work closely with legal counsel to identify potential legal or security issues that may impact GMF rights or collateral value
Communicate analysis results effectively to internal employees, management, and customers
Take full accountability for decisions, actions, and results
Qualifications
Understanding of commercial lending with emphasis on captive automotive dealership financing
Familiarity with dealer operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of dealership, fleet/commercial, and indirect auto finance industry operations
Understanding of credit underwriting, accounting, financial statement analysis, cash flow, and dealer workout
Excellent analytical skills and innovative thinking with strategic vision
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to interface with all levels of management and to make sound business decisions based on policies and procedures
Self‑motivated, capable of working independently, and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
Team player with strong leadership and motivational skills, able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Excellent customer service and persuasive presentation skills
Flexible for a hybrid work environment, with remote work part of the schedule
Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume department with occasional overtime as required
Openness to limited travel as needed for business purposes
Work Experience & Education
Directly related experience in commercial lending (required)
Experience in an automotive dealership commercial lending environment (required)
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (required)
Master’s Degree or CPA (preferred)
