Job Description
The senior marketing coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans and managing tactics from initiation through final project delivery. This role requires the coordinator to understand the fundamentals of marketing and work on a variety of projects simultaneously while being flexible and shifting priorities as business needs change. Projects may include website content, videos, e‑communications, printed collateral, conference planning & logistics, photo and video shoots, and/or advertising.

The coordinator knows how to lead effective meetings, have strategic conversations, and consult business partners by providing thoughtful marketing solutions to achieve business goals. He/she understands how to create marketing plans and track budgets so that projects are strategically aligned and delivered on time and in scope.

The coordinator has experience working with cross‑functional teams (writers, designers, digital coordinators, social media, etc.) and understands project‑management basics including creative brief writing. This role requires someone who proactively initiates projects and knows when to elevate concerns. The coordinator understands the full spectrum of marketing from initiation through post‑campaign reporting, including the creation and delivery of effective presentations that tell a story and highlight successes using analytics and collaborative reports from cross‑functional teams.

Experience

5 years of experience in marketing, communications, advertising, healthcare, non‑profit, and/or fundraising agency experience.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, journalism, communications, business, or a related field.

Job Responsibilities

Creates meeting agendas to effectively lead and align discussions; proactively initiates next steps following meetings to keep initiatives moving forward.

Asks insightful questions and ensures project goals are strategically aligned and agreed upon before kicking off with business partners or internal creative teams.

Demonstrates analytical skills and applies analytics or insights from research to optimize ongoing marketing and program efforts.

May supervise interns as needed.

Manages a wide range of projects and multiple timelines including website content, videos, e‑communications, printed collateral, conference planning & logistics, and/or advertising.

Initiates projects by asking thoughtful, strategic questions that lead to valuable project insights and strives to identify new ideas and ways to reinvent existing projects.

Writes and uses creative briefs to guide projects and deliver on main objectives.

Identifies issues and works with managers or other team members to quickly provide solutions and keep projects moving forward.

Balances urgency with accuracy to deliver the best work.

Prioritizes workload to adjust and pivot when business needs change.

Maintains brand consistency by learning visual identity standards and editorial style guide.

Tracks progress, maintains budget tracker, and reconciles project plans as needed to ensure projects deliver on time and on budget.

Understands digital content and orientation towards search engine optimization.

Uses project‑management platform and follows departmental processes for managing projects.
