Be a part of something bigger! Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role, covering and growing a territory in and around Glendale, Peoria, and Western Phoenix.

Ideal Candidate Location
Reside in or very near Glendale or Western Phoenix.

Compensation
Uncapped commission, vehicle reimbursement plan and full benefits.

Industry Experience
Salon/beauty industry experience highly preferred.

Essential Function
The Distributor Sales Consultant is responsible for an assigned territory of customers to help grow the salons’ overall sales. They will meet and achieve assigned sales goals by utilizing their manufacturer education and sales resources. Sales should be expanded through opening new doors and selling approved beauty products while introducing new products and concepts. The Consultant will actively use all forms of social media as an additional outlet to serve salons, barbers, spas, schools, and licensed beauty professionals.

Primary Duties

Identify key accounts within territory and establish an efficient route to grow and develop existing customers while looking for new partnerships.

Demonstrate and assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and tracking results of all in‑salon promotions, programs, and concepts. Determine customers’ needs and offer products and services to meet those needs.

Communicate all sales initiatives through partnering with vendors, achieving corporate sales goals monthly, quarterly, and annually.

Acknowledge and respond to all email, text, and phone communication in a timely manner (24 hours).

Analyze accounts to decide what brand support, education, and promotions are needed to grow within each salon.

Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals.

Strictly comply with established procedures for processing returns, including pick‑up and required documentation, and complete assigned projects on time.

Work with all areas of business, including customer service, accounts receivable, IT, and other necessary functions.

Prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets.

Manage all administrative aspects promptly, including daily order entry and regular maintenance of customer information in Salesforce.com.

Attract and retain salon clientele by using social media to promote, educate, and share product knowledge.

Conduct effective in‑person and virtual product knowledge classes.

Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, sales progress, follow‑up plans, and assistance needed.

Be a subject‑matter expert on digital platforms and social media to grow the business, and share knowledge with peers.

Attend all meetings, functions, and events, maintaining regular contact as established by the Company or Supervisor.

Be available to attend shows, set up and dismantle displays, handle back stock, and perform other physical activities.

Support new initiatives with a growth mindset and foster positive change management within the team.

Show a desire to learn and grow, continually improving and developing digital and social media techniques.

Schedule and attend business development days to increase product knowledge and vendor relationships.

Allocate and optimize time to utilize available tools and resources for learning.

Remain agile to market changes while building industry knowledge and intuition.

Actively work to increase product, industry, and market knowledge.

Create an organized work environment and workflow to efficiently service customers.

Demonstrate SBH Culture Values and adhere to the company code of ethics and behavior.

Experience and Skills Required

High school diploma or equivalent certification.

Minimum of one year of outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with an emphasis on consultative selling.

Must live within the assigned territory.

Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising preferred.

Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms to build pipelines and business.

Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle; experience with iPad a plus.

Ability to build an online community and create social connections using search engines and other internet tools.

This position requires local travel within the territory and attendance at shows, conventions, and educational events, possibly including overnight travel and/or weekend nights.

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety.

Frequent and sometimes prolonged periods of driving are required.

Committed to scheduled hours with flexibility for additional hours as needed.

Strong time‑management and organization skills, able to manage multiple projects.

Professional business image and positive public interaction.

Clear and effective written and oral communication at all levels.
