Position Summary
The Person in Charge (PIC) is a designated keyholder and acting leader responsible for overseeing store operations during assigned shifts when the Store Director or Assistant Store Director is not present. The PIC ensures smooth daily operations, delivers excellent customer service, enforces company policies, and provides direction to associates. This role does not carry full managerial authority but serves as the on‑site decision maker to maintain operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities: Store Operations

Serve as the acting leader on duty during assigned shifts

Open and/or close the store following company procedures

Ensure departments are staffed, faced, and ready for business

Monitor store conditions including cleanliness, safety, and equipment functionality

Address operational issues and elevate when necessary

Associate Oversight

Provide direction and support to associates during the shift

Assign tasks and ensure timely completion

Answer associate questions related to procedures, schedules, and basic operations

Reinforce attendance, break compliance, and dress code standards

Model professional behavior and strong customer service expectations

Customer Service

Act as the point of contact for customer concerns when leadership is not present

Resolve routine customer issues professionally and promptly

Escalate complex matters according to company policy

Maintain a visible presence on the sales floor

Cash Handling & Asset Protection

Support front‑end operations including cash handling procedures

Respond to register issues and cash discrepancies following protocol

Ensure safe cash practices and adherence to loss prevention standards

Secure keys, codes, and sensitive materials

Safety & Compliance

Enforce safety and security policies during the shift

Respond to incidents or emergencies and complete required documentation

Ensure store compliance with company procedures and regulatory standards

Scope of Authority

Acts as the on‑site leader during assigned shifts

May open and close the store

Does not independently conduct disciplinary action, performance evaluations, or terminations

Escalates HR, payroll, and complex associate issues to Store Director or Assistant Store Director
