This role contributes to Starbucks’ success by facilitating the end-to-end new product launch process for new Channel products. The partner leads cross‑functional teams (Sourcing, Planning, Regulatory, Product, GCA, Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Nestle) through new product introduction as the primary project manager and timeline owner. The partner is responsible for the successful introduction of new products or product transitions globally, and drives improvement to the quality, efficiency, and speed of new product launches. The partner improves the effectiveness of the end‑to‑end process via business process improvement efforts. The partner is adept at managing complex, longer‑term projects, effectively communicates with leadership and partners across functions, and operates, drives results, and sets priorities independently, with little direction.

Responsibilities

Manage all end‑to‑end product introduction tasks for new Starbucks customer‑facing products, across multiple Starbucks business units and with Nestle

Leverage the use of project management tools (Oracle PLM and/or Smartsheet) to create timelines for projects and to manage the daily and long‑range workflow for projects

Coach and mentor fellow PI commercialization managers on developing and maintaining project plans, objectives and schedules that support business objectives

Ensure project teams have clear goals, objectives and milestones consistent with project objectives and financial goals

Reward and recognize team's successes

Ensure that critical issues are identified, and action plans are in place to address them

Ensure effective communication takes place in the category, the cross‑functional organization, and the Global Coffee Alliance

Clearly communicate project status, risks, and scope creep with impact to all stakeholders on a regular basis

Communicate critical issues to senior management

Qualifications

Ability to work collaboratively and lead domain expertise within a team environment of cross‑functional peers

Extremely organized, able to work independently, multi‑task and manage complex projects in a highly dynamic environment

Strategic thinker, with well‑developed leadership behaviors for problem solving and driving process innovation—highly effective leadership, negotiation, influencing, motivational, coordination, and communication skills across a diverse globally matrixed organization

Experience in multi‑market, multi‑channel product launches – 3 years

New Product Introduction project‑based roles – 3 years

Relevant experience in multiple areas of expertise within Manufacturing or Supply Chains, such as Production Planning, Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing or related fields, preferably in the Food, Pharmaceutical or Consumer Packaged Goods Industry – 3 years

Building and leading teams – 3 years

Working with business areas to prioritize requirements in order to deliver the greatest business benefits – 3 years

Application of industry‑based project management and new product development methodologies and tools – 5 years

Project management, including all elements of scope, time, cost, risk, quality, integration, procurement, human resources and communication – 3 years

Process improvement or new product introduction process improvement within supply chain – 1 year

If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
