Job Summary:
The Stage Manager I position supports Studio & Remote productions activities. The Stage Manager will be the eyes and ears for the Director in the studio and on stage for remote productions, relaying specific direction to talent and the technical crew. Ensure that all sets are in place and that production positions are staffed. Anticipate, and troubleshoot if necessary, problems that may arise in the studio during a production and alert the Director to any potential issues. Communicate any rundown changes and how they may affect camera blocking and talent positions in the studio.

Responsibilities:

Oversee an assigned studio and ensure the Director has all materials and equipment needed to direct the production. Ensure that sets are in place and working; and that needed studio positions are staffed.

Ensure talent needs are met in terms of equipment, including iPads, proper chairs, pens/papers, mirrors.

Arrange the positioning of floor monitors based on talent locations.

Participate in pre-production activities.

Coordinate with and ensure the availability of assigned talent and guests.

Assist the Director with studio floor management activities; control the live or live-to-tape aspects of productions.

Identify and report issues with studios and production staff to the appropriate organizational unit; follow-up to ensure the resolution of identified studio operation issues.

Ensure compliance of assigned tasks with established standard operating procedures.

Oversee the management and distribution of studio props.

Send out daily communication of Stage Manager coverage.

Practice and maintain the performance standards as they apply to leadership, communication, operations, personal development and productions, and consistently perform all of the duties and functions required of the role of Stage Manager.

Qualifications:

An understanding of television production.

Clear, concise, and comprehensive verbal communication skills.

Ability to think quickly in a pressure situation.

Hard working, detail oriented, passionate about production, interested in technical areas and continually offers creative ideas.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of one year of production experience or network equivalent preferred.

Required Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Pay Range: $49,200 to $66,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
