Specialty Account Executive – New York (2359779) – At UnitedHealthcare, you’ll be part of a team that simplifies the health‑care experience and improves the lives of millions. This role focuses on specialty benefits sales and persistency, working closely with brokers and health‑plan sales teams.
Primary Responsibilities

Full oversight of specialty sales to achieve health‑plan market sales goals while maintaining profitability.
Advocate for specialty voluntary products to increase enrollment and size of sale, negotiating with brokers/customers and underwriting to provide the best value.
Consult with brokers and health‑plan sales teams on strategy calls, prepare and deliver presentations, and serve as specialty subject‑matter expert.
Conduct in‑depth presentations in the market.
Create and drive strategies for top specialty producing agencies and brokers.
Collaborate with Sales Management and health‑plan leadership on pipeline, persistency, market objectives and develop competitive strategies with specific brokers / general agents.
Work collaboratively with AE/SAE to support sales, product and process education, and training on employer‑paid and voluntary specialty products.
Communicate specialty topics, including marketing initiatives such as product updates, bonus programs, rate cards and drip marketing.
Develop business relationships with AE/SAE as a trusted advisor to increase specialty sales.
Assist AE/SAE in developing sales proposals, differentiating UnitedHealth’s products from competing offerings.
Required Qualifications

Sales insurance license(s) maintained as required by state law in residential and non‑residential states in your territory.
Experience managing a territory of brokers.
Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications

Over one year of experience with ancillary coverages.
Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales goals with specialty product.
Understanding of underwriting, financial and analytical details.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.

Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: $60,000 – $130,000 annually for full‑time employment. In addition to salary, benefits include a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401(k) contribution (subject to eligibility requirements). We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
