Position Summary
The Senior Sales Manager drives revenue for on‑site events by owning the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing and partnering with the on‑site operations team to deliver seamless guest experiences. Key duties include managing key accounts, expanding local corporate and social business, and analyzing performance to refine strategy. Success is measured by revenue growth, event profitability, guest satisfaction, and retention. We are looking for someone with hospitality/event sales experience, proven quota attainment, strong negotiation and presentation skills, CRM proficiency, and the ability to “lead the way”.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
Bring your 'A' Game to work every day to drive revenue by meeting and exceeding sales goals
Lead the way by prospecting, upselling, handling guest recovery, communication, networking, prioritization, and time management.
Collaborate with Director of Operations and Executive Chef to ensure high level event execution
Identify key corporate accounts in market, reach out via multiple touchpoints and develop relationships with decision makers to grow event sales
Review local donation requests for brand alignment
Contribute to sales goal by booking events and providing exceptional customer service, working with clients through every step of the planning process
Actively prospect for new business through cold calling, site tours, office visits, trade shows, social media, local marketing events and networking events
Attend networking events to build relationships in the local business community and help grow the Puttshack brand
Build relationships with hotels, DMCs, CVBs and Chambers of Commerce for referrals
Work with Business Development Manager to perform competitive market analysis and identify associations to join to help drive sales and establish Puttshack in the local community
Attend weekly manager meetings and 1 on 1s with Director of Operations
Create commission report after end of each period
Collaborate with National Sales Team to create marketing assets and identify sponsorship opportunities to drive group sales
Other projects or duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
Prior experience as a Director of Sales or Sales Manager in a high volume ($2M+ annual event revenue) restaurant, hotel, or entertainment environment
5-7+ years event sales experience
Skilled at working collaboratively with multiple departments as well as coaching, mentoring and developing a team
Overall knowledge of the local area businesses and existing client base
Strong presentation and negation skills
Experience with prospecting, cold calling, developing leads list, strategic planning and budgeting Excellent communication, time management, presentation, and organization skills
Ability to go above and beyond, demonstrating meaningful care in everything you do
A high level of emotional intelligence and overall self‑awareness
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
This position must pass a post‑offer background check
Physical Requirements
Physical activities on a continuous basis for up to 10 hours, including standing, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. may be required.
The venue may include slick surfaces, stairs, narrow spaces, and navigating complex areas.
The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to high.
Frequent use of telephone/video conferencing, and usage of a computer and keyboard to communicate through written means.
