Primary Responsibilities
Understand and follow all company policies and procedures, including those from EHS, QA, and production.
Ensure that all guards and safety equipment are installed and properly checked.
Read and interpret blueprints.
Review production schedule daily with Production Supervisor.
Set the pace for output and help operators maintain the required pace.
Train employees to operate machines; document training in the training matrix or Compliant Pro as directed by supervisor.
Set up machines for specific jobs as required; this includes changing tooling, recalibrating, and possibly operating machine during production runs.
Maintain 6S standards throughout the department on a daily basis.
Check parts dimensionally with measuring tools to maintain engineering drawing tolerances, including joint quality.
Report any faulty equipment or safety issues in the department or working area.
Participate in planning, goal setting and objectives ensuring alignment between shifts.
Maintain regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor.
Provide leadership and support.
Print daily product and box labels as required.
Adhere to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification requirements.
Stage and move materials within area (manually, not by forklift).
Support production with machine setups, changeovers, troubleshooting and guidance to employees.
Read, interpret and understand work orders and procedures as set forth by ISO documentation.
Assign employees to work areas.
Perform 1 st
part inspection and documentation on products.
Train new and current fabrication employees as needed.
Achieve or exceed the production standards that have been set.
Communicate clearly with co‑workers, supervisors, and Value Stream Manager.
Maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the department.
Maintain a safe working environment for self and all employees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time.
Must have a complete understanding of shop packets released to the shop floor.
Must be able to read, understand blueprints, and apply understanding to the task.
Must have a complete understanding of the equipment operation.
Must understand and be able to identify the different materials used in the department.
Must have a thorough understanding of the hazard communication program.
Must be capable of selecting the proper tools and gauges required for the products produced.
Must be able to select the proper component parts required.
Must be trained to perform certain preventative maintenance tasks within the department.
Must be able to identify and report malfunctions of the equipment.
Must be able to train.
Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions
Typical office/factory environment with possibility of long‑term exposure to heat in production areas.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in a safe manner.
Must be able to perform repetitive motion: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time.
Requires clarity of vision and the ability to focus on fast and repetitious operations for extended periods.
Exposure to machine noise levels (hearing protection required).
Exposure to heavy equipment or components; safety‑toed shoes required.
Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts.
Exposure to sparks, chips, and dust (eye protection required).
Exposure to extreme seasonal temperature conditions.
Must be capable of maintaining a 40‑hour workweek and working overtime as needed.
