Job Title:
Marketing and Communication Specialist
Job Purpose:
Provide leadership in the design and development of marketing and public relations strategies. Lead the integration of all marketing efforts, including website, social media, publications, advertising, multimedia, and press releases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and execute marketing strategy for the College of Education; establish goals and develop systems to track effectiveness.
Manage the College’s digital, print and multimedia creative content (websites, emails, newsletters, signage, brochures, magazines).
Manage College-level social media accounts and generate timely content.
Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve marketing goals (awareness, enrollment, retention, scholarships).
Assist in development and distribution of internal communications.
Support the College’s reputation through press releases, faculty/student highlights, and awareness marketing.
Develop or communicate informational programs to enhance favorable perceptions of the organization.
Prepare or edit organizational publications for internal and external audiences.
Create informational content that supports the University brand for print, web and social media formats.
Develop public relations strategies that influence public opinion or promote services.
Establish relationships with student groups, government, community, employee, public interest groups and media.
Identify trends or key interests and provide advice on staying current with techniques.
Provide website strategy and plan content updates regularly for the external college website.
Provide direction on presenting information and engaging audiences; write press releases and coordinate photo opportunities.
Coordinate special events to promote relations with students, alumni, retirees, and VIPs.
Arrange public appearances, lectures, contests or exhibits to increase awareness or goodwill.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or related focus.
Experience:
At least 4 years of work‑related experience.
Licensure / Certification:
Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in Higher Education Marketing:
Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing and communication strategies within a college or university setting, with an understanding of academic audiences, enrollment goals, and institutional branding.
Proficiency in Digital Content and Analytics Tools:
Experience managing websites, social media platforms, email marketing systems, and CMS, along with ability to analyze performance metrics.
Strong Storytelling and Media Relations Skills:
Proven ability to create compelling written and multimedia content (press releases, feature stories, videos) and build relationships with media outlets and stakeholders.
