Position Overview
INPEX ENERGY TRADING SINGAPORE PTE LTD (IETS) is a crude oil and LNG trading company in Singapore that focuses on the sale of crude oil and LNG produced by the INPEX Group.

Marketing & Trading Manager (Crude Oil) – Singapore – reporting to Head of Crude Oil.

Position Objectives

Sell and dispose IETS’s equity crude oil, condensate and LPG (collectively “Crudes”) stably as one of a trading arm and a front entity (IETS).

Build and enhance relationships and trust with customers and explore new customers in China, India, Southeast Asia and South Asia.

Realize stable sales at appropriate market prices.

Build and enhance the marketing function and capability of IETS and develop strong working and reliable relationships with the Japanese-speaking Management team to build and enhance sustainability and resilience in IETS, effectively communicating in English and Japanese.

Requirements

Degree from an internationally recognized institution of higher education.

Minimum 5 consecutive years of experience with a trading company in physical and derivative trading and Crude operation.

High level proficiency in Japanese (minimum JLPT N1) to read legal documents, write reports, conduct technical presentations and attend confidential meetings without interpreter; record and update transaction database in English and Japanese.

Proficiency in ETRM is required; hands‑on experience with Entrade is an added advantage.

Knowledge of and professional experience handling Upstream contracts (Petroleum, PS, Service contracts, etc.).

Trading knowledge: market direction/call, trading strategies, fundamentals, global markets, arbitrage, market climate, up‑to‑date on international events and geopolitical climate.

Financial trading knowledge: risk analysis, hedging/speculative/price‑forecasting instruments (derivatives, futures, options, OTC, credit instruments).

Well‑connected with end‑users and counterparties worldwide, especially for Crudes from Abu Dhabi, Australia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Angola, Republic of Congo and Brazil.

Ability to work independently and as a team player with strong communication skills in English and Japanese.

Superb command of English for business communication without translator/interpreter; English is the primary industry language.

Meticulous and detail‑oriented with a strong flair for numbers.

Responsibilities

Review and adhere to marketing/trading strategy daily and monitor/adjust positions based on risk exposure and trading volume limits.

Make marketing/trading decisions to maximize returns within company policies and procedures.

Execute derivative transactions according to hedge plans prepared per company policies.

Operate ETRM: input transactions, identify and correct mapping P&L and exposures, evaluate open contracts and positions, identify price exposures and develop daily hedge plans.

Keep up‑to‑date on market information, integrate insights into trading strategies and positions.

Attend necessary meetings with buyers, sellers, ICE, ADNOC, IFAD Murban, Clearing House, financial institutions, terminal operators, joint ventures, operational, middle-office, LNG, finance, and administration teams.

Work closely with Operation and INPEX upstream teams to ensure smooth operations and prevent curtailment of Crudes.

Collaborate with Middle‑office to ensure derivative transactions comply with policies.

Prepare market reports, business plans and performance targets as required.

Explore and develop new business opportunities in the Asian region.

Other ad‑hoc assignments as necessary.
