The Workers' Compensation Administration assures the quick and efficient delivery of indemnity and medical benefits to injured workers at a reasonable cost to employers.

Why does the job exist?
This position coordinates highly visible media relations and public information on complex and sensitive public relations issues for the Workers' Compensation Administration; to act as the liaison to the Governor's communications office for strategic planning of media relations efforts and initiatives; and, to coordinate the Agency's and Advisory Council's mission and objectives.
How does it get done?
* Recommend communication strategies on sensitive, political and highly visible agency issues.
* Coordinate with senior leadership on major projects to promote organizational campaigns and educational and regulatory responsibilities of the agency.
* Provide quality control for administration publications.
* Research and respond to news reporter's questions and requests for information of public interest in coordination with the agency's General Counsel and Governor's communication office.
* Coordinate, plan, and orchestrate logistics of Advisory Council meetings and activities and ensure compliance with the Open Meetings Act.
* Draft the Advisory Council's Annual Report for member review and distribution to the Governor and Legislature.

Ideal Candidate
* Experience with social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Linkedin, etc)
* Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with agency customers, high level executives and elected officials in person and in writing.
* Knowledge of or ability to learn design software for agency publications
* Experience with coordinated outreach initiatives
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience developing and implementing marketing plans for trade book publishers. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, lifting and reaching may be required. Ability to complete assignments with a high level of accuracy within strict time constraints. Frequent use of office machine and equipment. Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs. Occasional travel may be required. Experience using Microsoft Office applications are preferred.
