Responsibilities
As a Lecturer, your primary focus will be on inspiring and training the next cohort of filmmakers with practical, hands‑on experience.
Guide students through real‑world projects, helping them develop essential technical and artistic skills.
Teach screenwriting courses, mentor aspiring professionals, and contribute to shaping a program known for its collegiality, creative innovation, and commitment to student growth.
Teaching 100% – teaching one or two classes per semester (3‑6 credit hours).
Instruction focus: screenwriting for fiction, non‑fiction, and/or episodic television courses.
Qualifications
Degree/Experience: MFA or BA (minimum qualifications).
Expertise: 3 years of experience in screenwriting at the professional level.
Teaching: 2 years of experience teaching screenwriting.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree: MFA.
Expertise: More than 3 years of professional screenwriting experience.
Teaching: Experience teaching screenwriting at the college level.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Extensive knowledge and experience in screenwriting for fiction, non‑fiction, and/or episodic television.
Ability to mentor and inspire students in a dynamic learning environment.
Ability to contribute to a collaborative faculty culture.
Capacity to help shape the future of a growing program.
Striving: Passion for teaching and desire to mentor and inspire students.
Thinking: Ability to weigh alternatives and apply creative and technical expertise to a teaching role.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary range established at $5,371.19 per 3 credit course. Final salary determined by factors such as internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
