Position Summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will serve as a high‑impact “hunter” focused on aggressively identifying and capturing new business opportunities across brokerage, trucking, warehousing, and transportation solutions. This role is designed for a self‑starter who thrives on prospecting, opening new doors, winning deals, and building a strong portfolio of loyal customers. Success will be measured by the ability to drive revenue growth, penetrate target markets, and establish long‑term, profitable relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively identify, engage, and secure new customers through cold calling, networking, social selling, and in‑person meetings.

Develop tailored transportation and logistics solutions to solve customer pain points.

Build and manage a robust sales funnel through relentless prospecting and follow‑up.

Own the full sales cycle — from initial outreach and needs analysis through proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure.

Collaborate closely with operations, brokerage peers, and leadership teams to deliver on customer commitments and match‑up prospective opportunities in the Western brokerage and asset network.

Track, measure, and report on all sales activities using CRM tools, ensuring strong pipeline visibility and accurate forecasting.

Stay on top of industry trends, competitive intelligence, and market conditions to adjust strategies and maximize results.

Represent the company professionally at trade shows, networking events, and customer meetings.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in sales development, customer engagement and growth in logistics, trucking or transportation solutions

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong research abilities to identify prospects and personalize outreach

Demonstrated drive to deliver, persistence and resilience in a goal‑oriented environment

Passion for understanding customer needs and building relationships

Technical aptitude and ability to discuss complex solutions with confidence

Experience with or understanding of the transportation/logistics industry is a plus

Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales engagement tools
