Duties
Help
As a Director of Digital Strategy, you will perform the following duties:
Directs digital solution development to improve customer experience with ITA's programs and services.
Leads digital transformation and strategy, improving how ITA engages and serves customers via digital touch points, empowers employees providing services, and optimizes service processes using digital media and technology investments.
Develops a long-term program management plan for achieving digital maturity and sustainable business transformation.
Administers ITA's digital services portfolio, including Trade.gov, ITA's flagship web presence offering a diverse portfolio of content-based, interactive and transactional service offerings for customers needing assistance with trade and investment matters.
Provides expertise and is responsible and accountable for overall planning, direction, and timely execution of the Digital Services Program portfolio.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Director of Digital Strategy GS-0301-15, full performance level, GS-15, positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location or local commuting area with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Leading or overseeing enterprise digital transformation or modernization initiatives, e.g., setting digital strategy and guiding organization-wide efforts to improve customer experience, service delivery, or operational performance.
Managing or directing digital programs, portfolios, or mission-support systems, including cross-functional and cross-organizational coordination, e.g., coordinating or overseeing digital services, platforms, or systems and aligning stakeholders to support program execution.
Developing strategic plans or long-term initiatives, e.g., setting priorities or defining objectives to guide organizational or digital service improvements.

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
