Position Summary
The Program Manager advances Inatai's 50‑Year Vision by ensuring the Strategy and Impact division’s grantmaking operations run smoothly, consistently, and with care. Reported to the portfolio director, this role provides day‑to‑day oversight of operational and administrative implementation, strengthens systems that support timely decisions, clear coordination, and strong partner experiences. It is a key connector, translating strategy into reliable execution so teams and community partners can focus on building statewide power for racial justice and equity.
Primary Responsibilities
Grantmaking Operations and Administration
Document and support implementation of clear grantmaking operations across Strategy and Impact.
Strengthen shared practices supporting transparency, internal accountability, and timely, well‑documented decisions.
Coordinate onboarding and training so team members confidently use grantmaking systems, tools, and protocols.
Provide day‑to‑day operational support to grantmakers and partners.
Recommend workflow improvements and serve as a thought partner on operational choices that support equitable and responsive grantmaking.
Oversee grant files and records management in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
Promote compliance, accessibility, and shared norms for information stewardship.
Event Engagement Logistics
Lead cross‑divisional logistics for 100–150 event engagements annually.
Coordinate travel, registrations, accessibility needs, vendor logistics, and run‑of‑show support.
Document and implement event engagement processes aligned with Inatai’s values.
Build simple systems to capture, organize, and route learning from events.
Communications and Relationship Coordination
Maintain high‑quality customer service for grant‑funded organizations and internal stakeholders.
Ensure external communications are routed appropriately and responded to quickly, with kindness and clarity.
Manage email addresses impact@inatai.org and sponsorships@inatai.org and other required communications channels.
Document and update responses to frequently asked questions and common topics.
Project Management and Department Operations
Partner across departments for scheduling, planning, and communication alignment.
Build and oversee cross‑training on grantmaking processes and workflows.
Stay aware of trends in program and project management to inform policy and practice changes.
Influence and Convening Support
Provide logistical support for internal and external convenings of varying sizes.
Coordinate with internal partners to ensure adherence to policies and alignment for convening.
Qualifications
Work Experience
Minimum 6 years of program management experience, with some experience in grantmaking or philanthropic settings.
Preferred: Background in project management methodologies and travel support.
Education & Certifications
Preferred: PMP Certification.

Compensation
Salary ranges from $98,000 to $120,000, set according to an explicit compensation policy. A compensation enhancement is provided to employees with Indigenous or advanced language proficiency in more than one language used to advance the Foundation's work across Washington.
