Amazon's global cross channel, cross category marketing team (XCM) is seeking an Executive Creative Director to drive the strategic creative vision for Amazon's brand voice and develop fully integrated marketing experiences across all channels and touch points. This senior leadership role combines large scale creative thinking with executive-level strategic oversight, leading large-scale initiatives that span multiple departments and have company‑wide impact.

Strategic Creative Leadership

Develop and champion Amazon's overarching creative vision and brand strategy across global markets

Lead enterprise-level creative initiatives that drive significant business impact and customer engagement

Partner with executives to align creative strategy with business objectives

Establish creative standards and frameworks that influence company‑wide marketing approaches

Drive innovation in creative processes and methodologies across the organization

Drive emotional storytelling strategies that build deep customer connections across the full marketing funnel

Lead integrated campaigns from awareness through conversion, ensuring cohesive brand narrative across all touchpoints

Full‑Funnel Creative Strategy

Design integrated creative approaches that guide customers through complete journey from discovery to purchase

Balance brand‑building creative with performance‑driven content to optimize both awareness and conversion objectives

Develop creative frameworks that scale from premium brand moments to social‑native, always‑on content strategies

Orchestrate creative collaboration between internal teams and external agency partners to maximize creative impact and efficiency

Art Direction & Creative Vision

Lead art direction and visual design strategy across all marketing touch points and brand expressions

Conceptualize and oversee execution of large‑scale, multi‑platform creative campaigns with strong visual storytelling

Lead strategic design and content marketing projects presenting complex multidisciplinary challenges

Direct visual identity, typography, colour systems, and design language that defines Amazon's creative expression

Solve for business, customer, and stakeholder requirements while building creative that is unique, breakthrough, and highly effective

Master platform idiosyncrasies and create tailored content strategies that drive measurable marketing objectives

Stay ahead of emerging design trends, technologies, and cultural shifts to maintain Amazon's creative leadership position

Develop emotionally resonant creative that drives both brand affinity and performance metrics across awareness, consideration, and conversion stages

Lead social‑first creative strategies while maintaining consistency across traditional brand channels and premium media placements

Create compelling brand narratives that work seamlessly from large‑scale brand campaigns to targeted social content

AI‑Powered Creative Leadership

Leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance creative ideation, production efficiency, and campaign optimisation

Develop AI‑assisted creative methodologies that accelerate concept development while maintaining creative quality and brand consistency

Establish governance frameworks for AI‑generated content that ensure brand safety, legal compliance, and creative standards

Stay current with emerging AI creative tools and evaluate their potential impact on team capabilities and creative output

Balance AI efficiency gains with human creative judgement and strategic thinking to deliver breakthrough creative solutions

Organisational Leadership

Build, mentor, and lead high‑performing creative teams across multiple disciplines, with emphasis on art direction and design talent

Establish policies, procedures, and creative frameworks that impact the broader organisation

Foster a culture of creative excellence, innovation, and continuous learning

Coach and develop creative talent at all levels, creating clear career progression pathways

Drive cross‑functional collaboration and alignment across marketing, product, and business teams

Resource Management & Operations

Forecast and allocate creative resources across multiple high‑impact initiatives

Manage complex project portfolios with enterprise‑wide visibility and impact

Optimize creative processes and delivery mechanisms for scale and quality

Partner with senior leadership on budget planning and resource allocation decisions

Establish vendor relationships and manage external creative partnerships at the executive level

Basic Qualifications

15+ years of creative executive experience

Experience working with fast‑moving, high‑performance teams and driving innovative solutions tailored to unique business environments

Can communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation

Proven expertise in art direction, visual design, and creative execution across multiple channels and platforms

Proven track record leading creative teams through multiple full product development cycles

Portfolio demonstrating strategic creative thinking and execution across multiple channels and platforms

Demonstrated fluency with AI creative tools and experience integrating AI technologies into creative workflows

Experience managing large‑scale creative initiatives with measurable business impact

Experience working directly with C‑suite and board‑level stakeholders

Passion for emerging technologies and their application to creative marketing solutions

Experience developing emotional brand storytelling that drives measurable business results across the marketing funnel

Proven track record managing hybrid creative models combining internal teams with agency partnerships

Expertise in social‑first creative development while maintaining premium brand standards across all channels

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field; Master's degree preferred

Advanced proficiency with AI‑powered creative platforms and emerging generative design technologies

Recognised industry expert with global reputation in creative leadership and innovation

Strong business acumen with ability to connect creative strategy to financial outcomes

Experience establishing creative standards and processes across large, distributed teams

Track record of mentoring and developing creative leaders who have advanced to senior roles

Ability to work effectively across global markets and diverse cultural contexts

USA, CA, Santa Monica: $221,400.00 – $299,500.00 USD annually
USA, NY, New York: $243,500.00 – $329,500.00 USD annually
USA, WA, Seattle: $221,400.00 – $299,500.00 USD annually

The base salary range for this position is listed above. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
