Position Overview
The Senior Digital Strategist plans and strategically oversees the execution of paid search, display, streaming, and paid social media campaigns. They work closely with our entire Digital Marketing team on strategic oversight and relationship management of Carnegie’s higher education clients, with particular focus on our large, complex clients. This includes all aspects of our clients’ campaign execution, from proposal development and media plan creation to end‑of‑contract reporting and analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
Campaign Set Ups and Management: Architect complex, integrated digital strategies, identify digital business opportunities, design media plans, prepare strategic, multichannel media plans/budgets, oversee execution, ensure goals met, continually optimize campaigns.
Reporting and Analysis: Provide in‑depth monthly and ad‑hoc reporting via Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and platform tools; analyze data, identify trends, make recommendations.
Client Interaction: Foster client‑agency relationships through monthly strategy calls, act as expert partner, advise best practices.
Internal Teams: Keep up‑to‑date on digital landscape, bring ideas for process improvements, strategic testing, client satisfaction.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise client accounts led by junior and mid‑level strategists, provide mentorship, assist in training/onboarding new team members.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Clear oral & written communication; present on campaign performance.
Experience analyzing & reporting on data trends; strong understanding of digital marketing KPIs.
Excellent attention to detail, multitasking in deadline‑driven environment.
Experience with Asana or other project management tools.
Problem‑solving skills; work independently, troubleshoot issues.
Remote environment: effective communication, time management, ability to use multiple tech platforms.
Physical requirement: able to work at computer for prolonged periods.
Credentials and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; Marketing/Advertising major or concentration preferred.
2+ years digital media planning/execution experience.
Experience analyzing data via Google Looker Studio & Google Analytics.
Direct experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and/or Google Display & Video 360 or other DSP required.
Some management experience preferred.
Google Ads & or Google Analytics certifications a plus.
