This is a highly responsible position in the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following
Coordinates activities within the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) facilities in the implementation and administration of the American Correctional Association (ACA) and the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) accreditation process.
Collaborates with program participants on planning, implementing, and monitoring of provision of each program services.
Coordinates the ACA accreditation process.
Responsible for providing the required documentation for 422 ACA standards, of which 31 are mandatory to maintain accreditation.
Oversees, plans, coordinates and reviews work of staff involved in the accreditation process.
Monitors facility programs ensuring facility and DJJ policies and procedures are within ACA compliance and recommend and make changes as necessary.
Responsible for the coordination and readiness for other audits within the facility to include the PREA.
Monitors and facilitates compliance with 185 standards, 43 of which are mandatory.
Oversees facility programs to ensure they are meeting standards and recommend and make changes as necessary.
Provides professional support to the Department of Juvenile Justice in regards to maintaining records.
Reviews, maintains and archives facility files in accordance with applicable retention schedule.
Collects and analyze data related to the programs, collaborate with Facility Managers and administrative staff to obtain all required documents per policy.
Assist in developing, facilitating and conducting initial and annual training with staff to ensure all ACA and PREA standards are oriented to mandatory policies, procedures and have completed mandatory training prior to working with DJJ youth.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Three years of professional experience in management or administration.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
