WarHorse Gaming is a gaming and entertainment division of Ho-Chunk, Inc., developed in partnership with the Nebraska Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA). Position Summary
The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing social media and digital content strategies that support business objectives, strengthen brand awareness, and drive audience engagement. This role oversees campaign planning, content development, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to support overall digital growth and guest engagement across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage overall social media strategy aligned with organizational goals.
Plan and execute social media campaigns, including budgeting, content ideation, scheduling, and performance tracking.
Create and distribute engaging content including social media posts, blogs, website content, and e-newsletters.
Manage and oversee day-to-day social media content and platform activity.
Define, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize campaign effectiveness.
Monitor SEO performance and user engagement metrics and recommend content improvements.
Collaborate with Marketing, Food & Beverage, Casino Operations, and Player Development teams to support business initiatives.
Write and edit compelling social media copy while maintaining brand voice and messaging standards.
Utilize social media management tools such as Buffer or similar platforms to streamline campaign execution.
Stay current on social media trends, emerging technologies, and digital marketing best practices.
Analyze and report on campaign performance and provide strategic recommendations for improvement.
Ensure compliance with applicable email marketing and anti-spam regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Ten (10) to twelve (12) years of social media and digital marketing experience required, or eight (8) to ten (10) years with a Master’s degree.
Demonstrated progression in responsibility with experience leading complex marketing initiatives and delivering results-driven solutions.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with the ability to maintain brand voice across platforms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media management tools such as Buffer or similar platforms.
Experience developing and executing social media strategies, audience engagement initiatives, segmentation efforts, and performance analysis.
Working knowledge of social media analytics, KPI tracking, SEO principles, and digital marketing best practices.
Experience managing campaign timelines, budgets, and coordination with internal teams and external vendors.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Primarily operates in an office and hospitality environment with regular use of computers, phones, and digital marketing tools.
Exposure to loud noise, secondhand smoke, and varying operational conditions within gaming and entertainment environments.
Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working on computers and digital platforms.
Occasional movement throughout the property to support marketing initiatives and events.
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds as needed.
Requires prolonged concentration, analytical thinking, and frequent written and verbal communication.
Schedule & Travel
Travel is primarily local during normal business hours, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
Due to the nature of the hospitality and entertainment industry, team members must be able to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on business needs.
