Media/Marketing Coordinator (PORCH INC) (2026)

Overview
PORCH Communities' mission is to mobilize and support local volunteers to create sustainable hunger relief programs. The proposed VISTA project aligns with the AmeriCorps Healthy Future focus area. The VISTA project will seek to: increase the number of licensed NC PORCH chapters from 13 to 20 in 2026-2027, increase the number of NC volunteers from 1,500 to 1,700 in 2026-2027, increase the number of NC counties served from 10 to 14 in 2026-2027, and establish the foundation and processes to expand into South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia in the next 2-3 years. The project expects to benefit 12,000 individuals in 14 NC counties by providing over 1,000,000 meals in 2026-2027. This role will enhance and develop strategies for increased neighborhood leader engagement and onboard new neighborhoods, identifying areas for improvement.

Member Duties

Meet with PORCH Community leadership to gain a comprehensive understanding of PORCH's mission, values, and operations, focusing on its grassroots hunger relief model.

Engage with neighborhood leaders to understand their perspectives on hunger relief efforts and identify their needs and concerns.

Build audience and engagement for PORCH Communities: create monthly social tiles in support of a pre‑defined media strategy, post them to Facebook and Instagram via Meta according to the social calendar.

Work with neighborhood leaders to use marketing tools and assets, utilizing WordPress to manage and keep the internal resource center, The Front Porch, updated.
