Concert Orchestra Director
As a valued member of the Lyceum Youth Orchestras Program at American Heritage School, the Director of the Concert Orchestra at the American Fork campus will actively recruit participants, direct the ensemble from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. on select Wednesdays during the school year, program appropriate‑level repertoire for participants, and coordinate with other directors. Concert Orchestra is a full symphonic student orchestra ranging in age from 12–18, consisting of strings, winds, brass, and percussion.

Nature of the Role
This position is considered a faith‑forming role within American Heritage School. In addition to musical instruction, directors are expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints.

Qualifications
Well‑qualified candidates will have a bachelor's or master's degree in music with a suggested minimum of four years of experience conducting full symphony orchestras. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong conducting and rehearsal skills, a broad understanding of orchestral ensemble repertoire, high energy, and effective classroom management skills, as well as a commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith‑based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints.

Faith and Mission Responsibilities
In addition to conducting responsibilities, directors at AHS are expected to integrate faith‑based principles and moral reasoning into rehearsals where appropriate, serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students, support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions with students and colleagues, participate in school‑wide devotionals, prayer, and other faith‑centered activities, and respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision‑making in a manner consistent with the school's mission.

Professional Expectations
Candidates should be professional in appearance and demeanor and willing and able to serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement. Personal conduct, public statements, and online presence, both on and off campus, are expected to reflect and support the school's religious mission and educational purpose.

Position Details
This position is available for the 2026–2027 school year.
