Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented AV / Low Voltage Cabling Technician with proven experience on commercial job sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, termination, and troubleshooting of low voltage cabling, audio-visual systems, and network infrastructure in commercial environments. Your commitment to punctuality, adherence to procedures (with an eye for improvement), and the quality of your workmanship will be paramount to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Perform installation, termination, and testing of various low voltage cabling, including but not limited to: data (Cat 5/6), audio, video (HDMI, SDI, etc.), and control cables.
Mount and install AV equipment such as displays, projectors, speakers, and control systems according to specifications and industry best practices.
Perform rack wiring and organization for AV and IT systems, ensuring clean and efficient cable management.
Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
Troubleshoot audio, video, cabling, and basic network connectivity issues effectively and efficiently.
Adhere to established company procedures and contribute to the development and refinement of processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction and customer sites.
Represent the company professionally and communicate effectively with clients and other team members.
Qualifications
Previous experience working as an AV / Low Voltage Cabling Technician on commercial job sites is essential.
Strong understanding of low voltage cabling standards and best practices.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Experience with mounting various AV devices and equipment securely and aesthetically.
Solid skills in rack wiring, cable termination, and organization.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot audio, video, cabling, and basic network systems.
Exceptional dependability and punctuality are critical.
A strong work ethic with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
Ability to follow instructions and company procedures meticulously.
