Position Summary
The Part-time Producer will assist reporters and producers with planning, producing and editing stories for daily newscasts and our weekly news program, Athens News Matters. Book guests for studio and remote interviews. Assist in production of content for station website and social media.
Duties & Responsibilities
Feature and spot news production and editing. Assist reporters and producers with planning, producing and editing stories for daily newscasts and our weekly news program, Athens News Matters - 70%
Assist in production of content for station website and social media - 25%
Other duties as assigned - 5%

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
Familiarity with the programming on WUGA, Georgia Public Broadcasting, and NPR.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with writing or audio samples.
Learning new software, or familiarity with Adobe Audition.
Work independently in changing environments to meet deadlines.
Understanding of public media journalism standards and style.
Exceptionally qualified candidates will also have an understanding of the Athens community in all its facets, and a knowledge of local issues.
