Overview

The Way Out is a homeless initiative of The Salvation Army San Francisco focused on the intersection of homelessness and drug addiction, and is delivered through a Recovery System of Care. Serices include a continuum of abstinece based programs including shelter, stabilization, and detox, residential drug treatment and a women’s recovery program; recovery housing and independent living; life skills and workforce development services, and an alumni support network
The Joseph McFee Center is a two year Recovery Housing program for adults who have completed residential drug treatment. Rooted in the principles of recovery, accountability, and service, this transformative community fosters lifelong change by promoting positive values and behaviors through peer support, education, and community engagement. The program offers comprehensive onsite services such as case management, life skills, recovery support services, workforce and career development, and assistance with permanent housing placement. All prescribed medications, including Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) are permitted.
Duties and Responsibilities

Manage administrative and program operations in collaboration with the Director and Manager, and extends management coverage during crticial operation hours (i.e. evenings, weekends).
Implemente the program’s Policy and Operations Manual (POM), and ensure all staff and participants adhere to the POM.
Support the Program Manager with data collection and reporting, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking.
Supervise staff, conduct annual performance evaluations, and provide coaching and support. Collaborate with the Program Manager on the creation of staff schedules.
Collaborate with Program Manager to ensure intake, assessment, and service planning for all participants.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures of The Salvation Army and the State of California.
Provide regular written and oral reports as needed to the Program Manager and other Salvation Army leadership as requested.
Lead the Joseph McFee Center drug testing.
Other related duties as required.
Education and Experience

Minimum of two years of experience providing social services working to marginalized populations, specifically adults in recovery, reentry, or drug treatment (Required)
Experience in social services management, prefereably in shelter or recovery-oriented enviornment serving adults with behavioral health challenges, and/or with populations with significant barriers to self-sufficiency (Preferred)
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
CA Driver's License (Required) Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred)
First Aid and CPR certification (within first seven days of employment – company provided)
As required, Tuberculosis clearance (within first fourteen days of employment, company provided)

Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule with evenings and weekends (Required)
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (Usually file boxes)
