Director/Sr. Director, Product Management & Marketing
CNSide Diagnostics is a subsidiary of Plus Therapeutics, Inc. that develops and commercializes proprietary clinical diagnostic laboratory tests, such as CNSide, designed to identify tumor cells that have metastasized to the central nervous system in patients with carcinomas and melanomas. The CNSide Cerebrospinal Fluid Assay Platform enables quantitative analysis and molecular characterization of tumor cells and circulating tumor DNA in cerebrospinal fluid, informing and improving the clinical management of patients. The company is in the early stages of commercializing CNSide in the U.S.
We’re looking for a high‑impact leader to own product strategy and commercialization across an integrated CNS oncology platform that includes diagnostics, therapeutics, and data analytics. This role is intentionally cross‑vertical, requiring equal focus on shaping and scaling all three businesses to operate as a coordinated platform rather than independent products.
This is not a traditional marketing role. It requires a leader who can move seamlessly between clinical nuance, product strategy, and commercial execution, bringing clarity to complexity and driving measurable adoption across multiple modalities. You will lead one direct report and serve as a central integrator across Commercial, Clinical, Medical Affairs, R&D, and Market Access, with direct visibility to executive leadership and significant influence on company strategy.
This position may also sit in Houston, TX, or Charlottesville, VA.
Responsibilities
- Cross‑Platform Product Strategy: Define and continuously refine product strategy across diagnostics, therapeutics, and data; ensure alignment of modalities; translate capabilities into commercially viable offerings; synthesize physician and KOL insights.
- Integrated Market Narrative & Positioning: Build a cohesive platform narrative; establish product‑level positioning; simplify complex science into physician‑relevant messaging; ensure consistency across communications.
- Go‑to‑Market & Launch Execution: Lead strategy across diagnostics launches, therapeutic clinical and regulatory milestones, and data product rollouts; align launch readiness; coordinate cross‑team synchronized launches; develop scalable commercialization frameworks.
- Sales Enablement & Adoption: Equip the field with integrated messaging that connects diagnostics, therapeutics, and data; articulate when to use the diagnostic, how it informs treatment decisions, and how data enhances outcomes; partner with Sales Leadership; remove friction in the customer journey to accelerate adoption.
- Cross‑Functional Leadership & Integration: Act as the central integrator across diagnostics, therapeutics, and data teams; drive alignment; influence senior leadership with data‑driven insights; build a high‑performing marketing function; ensure clarity on integrated platform value.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. 8–12+ years in product management, marketing, commercial strategy, or consulting within life sciences.
- Advanced degree (MBA, PhD, MS, MD, or equivalent) strongly preferred; or demonstrable ability to translate clinical and scientific concepts into commercial strategy.
- Experience in oncology diagnostics, therapeutics, and/or data‑driven healthcare solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to operate across multiple product types or business models simultaneously.
- Proven track record of owning both upstream product strategy and downstream commercial execution.
- Strong ability to translate complex clinical and scientific concepts into clear, differentiated value propositions.
- Experience influencing cross‑functional teams in a matrixed organization.
- Experience leading or supporting product launches and commercialization efforts.
Preferred Experience
- Experience spanning multiple modalities such as diagnostics and therapeutics, or diagnostics and data platforms.
- Background in precision oncology, molecular diagnostics, or neuro‑oncology.
- Familiarity with payer dynamics, reimbursement, and market access strategy.
- Experience working with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic medical centers.
- Experience in a high‑growth, early commercialization, or platform‑based company.
