Commercial Lines Producer
Position Summary:
McGowan Insurance Group is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Commercial Lines Producer to join our growing team. This role is responsible for generating new commercial business, advising clients on risk management strategies, and helping organizations make informed, strategic insurance and operational decisions. The ideal candidate brings a consultative sales approach, strong communication skills, and a competitive drive to succeed. This is an opportunity to move beyond transactional selling—leveraging deep industry expertise, broad market access, and value-added resources to deliver meaningful solutions that build long-term client trust.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
- Proactively identify and pursue new commercial business opportunities through networking, referrals, outreach, cold calling, and community involvement
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed new business goals
- Conduct in-depth needs analyses to understand client risks and recommend tailored insurance solutions
- Present comprehensive insurance and risk management proposals, clearly articulating value beyond price
- Maintain an organized and accurate sales pipeline within the CRM system (Agency Zoom)
Client Relationship Management
- Build and cultivate strong, long-term client relationships to drive retention and satisfaction
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for client inquiries, service needs, and coverage guidance
- Perform regular policy and coverage reviews to ensure alignment with client needs and identify opportunities for cross-selling and account growth
- Partner closely with internal service teams to deliver seamless, high-quality client experience and maintain strong retention results
Professional Development
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory updates, and market developments through ongoing education and professional engagement
- Actively participate in coaching and development opportunities to enhance performance and career growth
- Support and mentor team members by sharing expertise in sales strategies and client service best practices
- Champion company culture by modeling collaboration, client-first thinking, and active participation in agency initiatives
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Active Indiana Property & Casualty license required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Minimum of 1 year of commercial insurance sales experience strongly preferred
- Proven track record of prospecting, generating new business, and driving revenue growth
- Solid knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance products and coverage structures
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, Teams, etc.)
- Experience with CRM platforms and agency management systems (e.g., AMS360 or Applied Epic)
- Strong sales acumen, including presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
- Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to navigate market challenges and manage rejection effectively
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, carriers, and business partners
- Self-starter with a results-driven mindset; able to work independently and collaboratively
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, as permitted by law
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (Hybrid Work Options)

Location Flexibility: Qualified candidates located within a commutable distance to any McGowan office in Indiana will be considered.
