Metro Supply Chain USA, Inc is a privately owned third-party logistics provider, managing over twelve million square feet of warehouse space across North America and Europe. We service the most complex and challenging distribution needs of our customers, and we are looking for a 2nd Shift Yard Jockey at our Carlisle, PA facility.
Position Overview

This position will involve a variety of responsibilities/tasks including, moving trailers through the yard, moving materials through the warehouse facility. The incumbent will perform general warehouse duties including; shipping and receiving, picking and packing orders, and other warehouse related job tasks as assigned while meeting company standards of safety, security, and productivity.
Primary Responsibilities

Safe and efficient movement of trailers in and out of dock doors
Maintain routine radio communication with yard control
Daily inspection of truck
Backing trailers into designated areas as requested
Check tires and do circle checks to make sure trailers are capable to move
Performing and documenting daily pre-trip inspections of the truck
Monitor truck condition and communicate when repairs are required
Perform minor repairs (change lights, fuses, etc.)
Minimum Knowledge, Experience & Skill Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must hold a valid forklift operator license (Counterbalance, Walkie, Raymond Reach) from a recognized training provider
Minimum of 5 years' Shunting experience and hold a valid drivers license.
Ability to be mobile in an industrial environment
Organizational skills with varying degrees of independence, judgment, and discretion
English communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Must be capable of sitting, standing, lifting and walking for extended periods
Service orientated with strong customer service skills and commitment to quality of work
Able to lift, on average 50 lbs, repetitively and safely
Strong team player, but also able to work effectively independently
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills - able to follow instructions
Experience with a WMS (Warehouse Management System) would be a definite asset
