Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Placentia, CA, for a Music/Choir Director. The Music/Choir Director will be responsible for planning and leading musical aspects of worship services, including choir rehearsals, hymn selection, and special music programs. Additional responsibilities include accompanying performances on the piano or organ, coordinating with clergy for liturgical requirements, and overseeing development and execution of music education initiatives within the congregation. The role requires active collaboration with church members to maintain and enhance an inclusive and spiritually rich traditional and contemporary musical experience.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Music Theory and practical Music skills
- Demonstrated expertise in Church Music, Organ and Piano accompaniment
- Experience in Music Education and fostering musical talent of both Vocalistas and Instrumentalists within a community
- Ability to create, plan, and lead diverse music programs
- Organizing the music library for enhanced utilization
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to work effectively with choir members, clergy, and the congregation
- Familiarity with Episcopal liturgical traditions is preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music or a related field, or significant professional experience in music ministry
