Your New Role
CNN is seeking a VP of Product Management - Ad Products to lead our advertising product strategy across platforms, with a focus on creating innovative, high-impact ad experiences, while improving funnel efficiency and deepening integration with the WBD advertising stack.
This role sits at the intersection of product, revenue, data and engineering and requires a leader who can rally cross-functional teams to build ad products that drive revenue while enhancing the overall user experience.
This role is critical to CNN's ability to modernize its advertising business - connecting best-in-class ad technology with thoughtful product design to move beyond standard ad units to more integrated, effective and user-centric ad experiences.
Your Role Accountabilities
Own ad product strategy: define the vision, roadmap and success metrics for CNN's ad products across web, app, video and emerging platforms, balancing revenue, user experience and advertiser value

Create innovative, differentiated ad experiences: develop new formats, integrations and storytelling experiences that go beyond standard ad units, embedding advertising more natively into the CNN experience in ways that are compelling for advertisers and respectful of users

Optimize performance across ads funnel and ecosystem: improve funnel efficiency (supply → targeting → delivery → measurement) maximizing yield and advertiser outcomes across direct and programmatic, while partnering with WBD to leverage its broader ad stack

Drive product-led monetization across teams: Partner with product leaders to ensure advertising is considered early in the product development and built into core experience and roadmaps

Partner closely with Ad Sales: collaborate to inform product strategy and ensure new ad products are aligned with market needs, supporting go-to-market, packaging and positioning

Advance targeting & personalization: partner with data teams to enable more precise, privacy-compliant audience segmentation and activation

Build and lead team: scale a high-performing ad product team that is data driven, user centric and grounded in experimentation

Key Focus Areas (First twelve months)

Qualifications and Experience
12+ experience in digital advertising, ad tech or product management, with senior leadership experience

Proven track record of building and launching innovative ad products or monetization features (not just operating existing systems)

Demonstrated success improving monetization and funnel performance at scale

Strong understanding of the digital ad ecosystem (ad serving, programmatic, identity, data platforms, measurement), and experience working in both direct-sold and programmatic advertising

Experience developing custom ad experiences (e.g., native, branded content, interactive formats)

Ability to drive cross-functional alignment and influence product roadmaps without direct authority

Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills
