What the job involves

As a UI/UX Software Engineer on the Sand Table team, you will be the critical technical bridge between design vision and functional reality, implementing next-generation user interfaces for wargaming and briefing capabilities in XR headsets

You will work closely with the UI Artists and Creative Director to transform visual designs into responsive, high-performance UI systems that enable our customers worldwide to interact with complex military simulations and briefing tools in immersive environments

Implement and optimize UI systems designed by the UI Artist team for XR environments, including HUDs, menus, data visualization, interactive elements, and real-time overlays

Partner with stakeholders to establish clear priorities and define expectations, which translate to a scope of work that you and the team can deliver

Write clean, maintainable, and extensible C++ code with attention to reusability and performance

Develop robust UI frameworks and component libraries that integrate seamlessly with an internal game engine

Analyze and optimize both memory and performance in UI systems that scale from high-end desktops to mobile AR systems

Collaborate closely with engineering and product leads to develop cohesive approaches to UI architecture for future XR programs

Provide technical feedback during the design phase to ensure feasibility and optimal performance

Implement UI animations, transitions, and interactive behaviors that enhance user experience
