Assistant Director—Creative Video
The University of New Mexico Athletics Department seeks an Assistant Director of Creative Services: Creative Video to serve as the lead videographer and editor for the athletic department, coordinating with the broader Athletics creative services and external teams.

Responsibilities

Serve as the lead videographer and editor for the UNM Athletic Department.

Work as a key member of the three‑person Creative Services team led by the Assistant AD and collaborate with the larger marketing and communications teams.

Manage assigned video projects from start to finish, ensuring proper sound, lighting, and interview techniques.

Produce strong long‑form and short‑segment content with an emphasis on storytelling for UNM Athletics platforms, including social media channels, golobos.com, Mountain West Network, live in‑stadium platforms, and other outlets.

Collaborate with other departments (Marketing, Communications, Sports Properties) to incorporate and fulfill sponsorship elements.

Play a crucial role in shaping the overall visual direction of the UNM Athletic Department brand while maintaining compliance with university and Athletics branding guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED plus at least 5 years of directly related experience.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution may substitute experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

2 + years of experience working in collegiate athletics (internship and GA acceptable).

Experience with DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

Strong knowledge of non‑linear editing software and industry best practices.

Understanding of proper lighting, sound, and interview techniques.

Experience with motion graphics.

Willingness to learn new skills and grow as part of the team.
