About the Role
At Equitable, we help clients secure their financial well-being so they can pursue long and fulfilling lives — a mission we’ve honed since 1859. Equitable’s Request for Proposal (RFP) Team is in search of an RFP Writer to play an integral role in business development and client service efforts through the preparation of proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs and other due diligence requests for Equitable’s Group Retirement 403(b), 457(b), 401(a), and 401(k) products. The Writer will work with multiple internal and external subject matter experts and contribute to the new business development process through well‑written and effective responses.

What You’ll Be Doing

Demonstrate an understanding of Equitable’s employer‑sponsored products and services

Work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet strict deadlines

Write clear, concise, and accurate responses by customizing available content

Prepare responses that speak to the intended audience

Collaborate with various departments throughout the firm to obtain answers, develop new language, and obtain needed information, including but not limited to legal, operations, customer service, product management, and marketing

Edit final documents to reflect a customized response for the specific opportunity while maintaining consistency and quality of key messages

Coordinate production of final proposals (formatting, technical editing, and reproduction)

Submit final proposals, electronically or by print

Utilize and periodically update third‑party databases consisting of answers and information necessary to respond to RFP and RFI questions

Follow‑up on status of submitted proposals

Enter bid details into tracking database and update each case as changes occur

Demonstrate a full understanding of different group retirement products

This position offers a flexible work schedule: it may be fully remote/hybrid. If you are located near one of our offices (e.g., Charlotte, NC or Syracuse, NY), a hybrid schedule with 2–3 days on‑site per week is expected to foster collaboration and connection.

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 – $85,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short‑term incentive compensation opportunities.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is required. Preferred majors include Finance, Economics, Business, English, Communications, or Journalism

5 years of experience in business writing, proposal support, or financial client services

Ensure proposals are error‑free and compliant

Time management: juggle multiple concurrent deadlines in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment

Comfort in working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), legal teams, and senior executives to gather and refine content

Must be able to critically review and edit drafts for consistency and tone
