Job Title: Seasonal Photo Team Manager

Location: Glen Allen, VA (hybrid remote/onsite at various school locations)

Position Type: Seasonal – June through November with potential extension into December; full‑time with benefits.

Your Role
As a Photo Team Manager, you will oversee and inspire a team of photographers to capture memorable moments for students K‑12 and their families. You will lead training, manage logistics, and ensure each school photo day runs smoothly and efficiently.

Training

3‑day paid "Train the Trainer" session at JostensPIX headquarters in MN plus paid virtual sessions

Identify a local location for pre‑season Photographer training

Partner with Training Specialist to train your team

Provide on‑the‑job guidance for new hires throughout the season

School Photography Operations

Manage photo day logistics and schedule the appropriate number of photographers for each event

Research and determine centralized storage location for photography equipment

Oversee equipment storage, organization, and coordination of pickups with the team

Coordinate weekly pickups with Event Leads for photography hard drives, etc.

Collect and prepare all photography gear for shipment to MN at season end

Employee Management

Partner with HR to conduct interviews and hire photographers

Directly manage photographers within your hub

Allocate school assignments and schedule photographers for the service area

Communicate event details clearly to assigned photographers and school contacts

Establish expectations and enforce JostensPIX standards and attendance

Coordinate with Travel Coordinator for hotel reservations

Approve photographer expenses and manage overtime and travel needs

Photography Execution

Execute JostensPIX photography in accordance with protocol

Work as a photographer or event lead during peak days as needed

Attend 2‑3 photo day events per week for additional support

Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure smooth operations

Travel to schools within the assigned hub as required

Qualifications

Leadership experience: proven success managing teams under pressure

Education: four‑year degree or equivalent combination of education, customer service, and general business experience

Communication: exceptional ability to connect with teams, clients, and partners at all levels

Organization: ability to juggle multiple tasks without missing a beat

Tech‑savvy: comfortable using computers and learning new programs quickly

Physical stamina: able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, maintain energy during busy photo days

Flexibility: willing to work early mornings, evenings, and travel as needed within the assigned area

Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (public transportation not an option)

Comfort with school environments: interact with students of all ages and abilities, creating a positive and engaging atmosphere

Professional appearance: maintain grooming and demeanor that reflects Jostens’ corporate image

Reliable communication: consistent access to dependable cell phone and internet service

Local Requirement

May be required to complete additional background/health screenings per state policy
