COLT MIDSTREAMJob DescriptionTitle: Operations TechnicianReports to: Area SupervisorDepartment: OperationsExemption Status: Non-exemptPrimary Area: Albany/Breckenridge, TXReporting Office: Eastland, TXPrimary Focus:Ensure the safe and efficient operations of all pipelines, compressor stations, dehydration facilities and natural gas treating (amine) and processing plants.Key Accountabilities:Performs all job functions within the Safety and Environmental policies of Colt Midstream, LLC and Governmental laws and ordersActively participates in Safety program which includes regular scheduled safety meetings and training up to and including participating in the investigation and documentation of incidents and accidents involving company and contract personnelResponsible for upkeep and appearance of pipeline facilitiesPerforms pipeline operations, inspections, maintenance, and documentation to include R-O-W, compressors, and dehydration facilitiesEnsures natural gas and liquid quality are within pipeline and/or contract specificationsAssists team in scheduling maintenance of equipment and supplies to ensure minimum downtime and efficient job completionAssists in the strategic planning process and prepare timely reports as neededPerforms 24-hour on-call shifts on a regular basisPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; feel and reach with hands and arms; the employee is required to reach with hands and arms above his head as well as stoop and kneel to reach items below his normal reachThe employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.The employee is occasionally required to use sense of smellPerforms minor maintenance as necessary with medium to heavy lifting requirements; the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include good visionWork Environment:Operations Technicians are required to reside within 30 minutes of response time to their areasWorks mostly unsupervisedAvailable 24 hours per day for on-call needs such as emergency situations response and equipment malfunctionsOccasionally long hours due to tight deadlinesMust be able to remain calm and focused during emergencies or high-stress situationsFrequently exposed to work near moving mechanical partsWork in high, precarious placesWork near toxic or caustic chemicalsThe employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibrationThe noise level in the work environment may be above 90 dBA; must be able to use hearing protectionExpected to work well with others, mentor less-qualified personnel, and treat others with respectQualifications:Education:High School Diploma/GED requiredExperience & Skills:Preferred five years minimum experience in an operations role in the gas or related industryPrefer backhoe experience but not required.Requires knowledge of various computer programs such as Microsoft Word and ExcelMust be able to work without supervisionStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsSelf-motivated and drivenHigh integrityMust have valid drivers license and excellent vehicle driving recordCertificates and Licenses:Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
