The Norfolk Tides are the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, playing at Harbor Park in downtown Norfolk, Virginia. The team captured the 2023 International League and Triple-A National Championships, showcasing one of the deepest prospect groups in baseball. With a family-friendly atmosphere, engaging promotions, and strong community ties, the Tides are a cornerstone of baseball in Hampton Roads.Norfolk Tides is actively seeking an Account Executive to join their highly dynamic Ticket Sales Team. We believe that Ticket Sales is a vital part of our team’s performance, and our Account Executives play a critical role in that success. We are looking for someone who is interested in growing within the sports industry and curious to learn the inner workings of our business at every level. The individual in this position is expected not only to be an exceptional salesperson but also to deliver outstanding customer service to all clients to ensure fan retention and to establish a positive experience with the brand.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRepresent the organization with the utmost professionalism in the communityGenerate new business by prospecting, cold calling, appointments, stadium tours, and attending networking/community eventsRenew all group, and hospitality/suite clientsWork closely with sales and marketing departments to develop compelling sales programs and components focused on long-term business sustainabilityTrack activity through dedicated CRM, preparing and maintaining records for sales leads and account statusMeet and/or exceed personal sales goalsMeet and/or exceed daily and weekly outbound call/appointment minimumsContribute to overall operation by “answering the call” when assistance is needed in another area of our operationQualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 6 months of sales or customer service experienceDemonstrate a proven track record in sales and building quality relationships, preferably within the sports industryHave a friendly and professional telephone mannerStrong desire to learn about our business and grow your professional careerAbility to effectively express ideas verbally and in writingPossess a positive attitudeMaintain a flexible work scheduleOther duties as assigned
