As the Marketing Manager for Faculty Events, you will play a crucial role in planning and executing marketing events designed to increase awareness and engagement for Cengage and its products. This position will involve executing various facets of events throughout their lifecycle, from conceptualization to on-site execution.
What You'll Be Doing
Execute marketing events such as conferences, webinars, field events, and sponsored experiences aligned with our strategic goals.
Collaborate in developing innovative event concepts and identifying target audiences.
Support decision‑making regarding event participation and representation of Cengage.
Oversee logistics, including venue selection, travel arrangements, hospitality, shipping, and on‑site requirements.
Assist in monitoring budgets and return on investment (ROI), ensuring expenditures align with approved plans and tracking leads in our systems.
Manage event production activities, coordinating with vendors and overseeing operations during events.
Engage in negotiations with venues and coordinate with talent or speakers.
Supervise third‑party resources, addressing any issues that may arise.
Handle short‑term assignments independently, following established guidelines.
Skills You Should Have
Working knowledge of event marketing and experiential marketing concepts.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and address challenges proactively.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
A knack for applying good judgment to moderately complex assignments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Typically requires 2+ years of experience in event marketing or field marketing.
