QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree Required.

Two or more years of experience in communications, public relations, Journalism, or a related field.

Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud which include but not limited to; Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro.

Proficiency in a variety of website content systems such as: Finalsite, Mailchimp & Squarespace.

POSITION SUMMARY

Energize and create strong, welcoming relationships with Nelson County Schools stakeholders through professional-quality district communications and initiatives that are efficiently and effectively shared with employees, students, and families and the broader community.

Align actions with district and school values and core priorities.

Evaluated based on the efficacy of aligned actions.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with campus leaders & district leaders to facilitate meaningful and hospitable enrollment experiences for all Nelson County families through digital storytelling, marketing, and online resources. Owns campus messaging, storytelling, and identity.

Communicate to prospective students and families our community centered opportunities and information for enrollment events. (ie Recruitment of students and families). Supports feeder school communication.

Collaborate and support Care teams with district and campus wide programming: educational materials, incentive programs, and support celebrations. Builds community engagement and campus pride.

Support campus wide and district wide branding, marketing and promoting events. Leads NRGizers.

Produce written/visual content for campus and district website news, newsletters, social media and other publications. Determine appropriate communications for target audiences.

Serve as communications liaison between the media and the campus and the district. Prepare, coordinate and distribute news releases, arrange media interviews and conferences and respond to requests for information. Proactively seek earned media opportunities to leverage district & campus communications efforts and priorities.

Leads NRG Story Lab (Student NRGizer course).

Support the district and campus wide attendance improvement plan. (Branding, Marketing, and Promoting Events)

Multi-media coverage of district and campus programs and events. Support school-led communications programming

Assist in the development of website layout and information (Creation of electronic forms and collaborating with other directors, ie food service, athletics, workforce development, to build systems for families to complete necessary information for data collection purposes).

Assist in the development of programming around data trends that will strengthen family experiences and student engagement.

Support communication with Online Registration to families and Parent Portal usage

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Ability to operate a variety of multimedia equipment, design district and school system productions.

Ability to deliver consumer-ready materials for publication and/or broadcast within 24 hours of acquiring appropriate materials and/or footage.

Ability to manage the design, implementation, documentation, and troubleshooting of enrollment and registration of the District website.
