The Peel Compton Foundation is seeking a motivated Recreation Coordinator (Cycling) to join the Programs Team!
About the Position : This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate mountain biker and outdoor educator to shape our growing recreation department. As the Programs Coordinator, you'll be the driving force behind mountain bike clinics, events, and trail experiences that bring riders of all ages and skill levels into the PCF community. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position with paid time off, flexible scheduling, and professional development opportunities.
General Responsibilities
Lead the planning and execution of year-round mountain bike programming across Coler Mountain Bike Preserve — including skills clinics, guided rides, trail events, youth MTB camps, and other race formats.
Develop creative, mission-aligned programs that welcome riders of all backgrounds, from first-timers to seasoned shredders.
Champion a culture of safety, trail stewardship, and inclusion in every program you build. Oversee program registration, participant communication, and day-of customer experience.
Support additional recreation programming (trail runs, seasonal camps, etc.) as needed.
Program Facilitation & Events
Design and lead MTB clinics for youth and adults, including progressive skills clinics
Beginner-specific sessions, and community group rides.
Direct on-site management of MTB events, including course setup, volunteer coordination, and participant support.
Recruit, train, and schedule MTB instructors, ride leaders, and event volunteers under the guidance of the Recreation Manager.
Build a team culture that reflects PCF's values and keeps staff and participants stoked to show up.
Operations
Support program logistics, including setup, registration, equipment management, and reporting.
Assist in ensuring that program spaces and equipment are maintained, safe, and ready for use.
Help track program data, attendance, and participant feedback to improve offerings.
Support budget management tasks, such as purchasing supplies and maintaining records.
Who We're Looking For
Active mountain biker with hands-on experience leading MTB clinics, camps, or guided programs
Background in recreation management, outdoor education, kinesiology, or a related field (degree preferred; equivalent experience considered)
1–3 years of experience in outdoor programming, youth engagement, or events coordination
IMBA, BICP, or equivalent MTB instruction certification is a strong plus
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and on varied terrain
Strong communicator with a knack for building relationships across age groups and skill levels
Sound judgment in dynamic, fast-moving outdoor environments
Availability to work nights and weekends
