Marketing Manager Responsibilities
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing and communications initiatives that advance the organization’s mission, increase awareness, and drive engagement across key audiences including donors, volunteers, partners, and the broader community. This role blends strategic planning with hands‑on execution and works closely with leadership, programs, and development teams.
Marketing Strategy & Brand
Develop and implement integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
Protect and strengthen the organization’s brand across all channels.
Ensure consistent messaging, tone, and visual identity.
Aligning with IRONMAN Marketing schedule and resources for consistent support and collaboration.
Manage the marketing collateral and supplies at the IRONMAN Foundation’s Tampa office location (maintaining organization of office and storage facilities, shipping of supplies for marketing activations at events).
Digital & Content Marketing
Oversee and create content across digital platforms (website, email, social media, blogs, digital campaigns, video).
Manage editorial calendars and content pipelines.
Optimize digital presence to increase awareness, engagement, and conversions.
Consistently implement industry best practices and updates across digital platforms.
Management of website and social media accounts, including paid media.
Campaigns & Fundraising Support
Collaborate with development teams to support fundraising, donor stewardship, and advocacy campaigns.
Create and execute marketing assets for events, giving campaigns, and initiatives.
Track and report on campaign performance.
Management of marketing database and updates for communications.
Community Engagement & PR
Support community outreach, partnerships, and media relations efforts.
Develop press materials, newsletters, and stakeholder communications.
Coordinate speaking opportunities, community events, and promotional efforts.
Lead onsite race week presence and engagement.
Attend relevant events and activities to represent the company and build strong relationships with key community members.
Analytics & Reporting
Monitor performance metrics across channels (email, web, social, campaigns).
Use insights and data to refine strategy and improve results.
Prepare clear, concise reports for leadership and board audiences.
Collaboration & Vendor Management
Work cross-functionally with programs, operations, and leadership.
Manage external vendors, designers, agencies, or freelancers as needed.
Qualifications
Required
Ability to work weekends, evenings and non-traditional hours.
Ability to travel 25%+ of the time.
Ability to lift 25 lbs+.
Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative team environment.
5+ years of marketing or communications experience, preferably in a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
Proven experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns.
Strong writing, storytelling, and editing skills.
Proficiency with digital marketing tools (CRM/email platforms, CMS, social media, and analytics tools).
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
Preferred
Experience supporting fundraising, advocacy, or membership based initiatives.
Familiarity with donor communications and stewardship strategies.
Experience in Canva, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Constant Contact.
Hands‑on experience across CRM/email marketing, paid media, social, content, and experiential marketing.
