Key Responsibilities

Perform accounting duties related to accounts payable, billing, travel, payroll, and petty cash.

Conduct complex and routine administrative tasks, including data research, compilation, and analysis for special reports.

Interpret and apply City and department policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Maintain inventories, order materials, process invoices, and manage budget records.

Gather and compile information for budget development and prepare reports.

Provide administrative support to committees, boards, and commissions, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and minute transcription.

Coordinate activities with other departments, outside agencies, and the public.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Five (5) years of bookkeeping or related experience.

Proficiency in basic accounting transaction practices and procedures.

Strong skills in office management, administrative support, and budget administration.

Excellent communication skills, including English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Experience with various computer software, including word processing and spreadsheets.

Preferences

Associate's Degree from an accredited institution.

Experience in supervising and evaluating office staff.

Ability to prepare and maintain complex financial and statistical records and reports.
