Qualcomms Multimedia R&D team is seeking a skilled technical artist with character rigging experience to work with our research team to implement game elements for XR. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated problem solver able to create 3D character rigs and facial controls and implement animation control systems through blueprints within Unreal Engine, Maya or any related software.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Design Graphics, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of experience with relevant art software (e.g., Zbrush, Maya, Blender) or related work experience OR

Associate's degree in Fine Arts, Design Graphics, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of experience with relevant art software (e.g., Zbrush, Maya, Blender) or related work experience OR

High School diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of experience with relevant gaming art software (e.g., Zbrush, Maya, Blender) or related work experience.

Ideal Candidate will have

3+ years experience with relevant gaming art software (e.g., Zbrush, Maya, Blender) or any related work experience.

Tech fluency in one development scripting language such as Python, C# or C++.

Solid understanding of rigging realistic humanoid characters and creatures, with high proficiency in character skinning, physics, and technical workflows.

Strong debugging skills, ability to fix and troubleshoot workflow issues in artist provided rigs, software, version control systems, and rendering issues within game engines.

Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines.

Strong ability to work independently.

Strong familiarity with animation blend spaces.

Understanding of Maya and Unreal Engine (including Unreal Animation and Rigging Tools and/or Advanced Skeleton).

Demo materials links that show sample visuals of characters rigs and production tools.
