Job Description:
In this professional position, the Production Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that equipment and machinery are operating at optimum efficiency, coordinating all phases of manufacturing operations including primary processing, and coordination of maintenance, and that operators are professionally trained in equipment operations. The Production Engineer will have the following professional duties and responsibilities:
Analyze production and packing equipment to make recommendations on continual improvements.
Collaborate with plant and quality assurance personnel to review product quality consistency while monitoring yield rates and waste to determine trends and areas of improvement.
Supervise the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.
Diagnose problems in the production line and providing recommendations and training.
Strategically plan to remove production constraints, allocate human and equipment resources, and direct production employees to attain all established goals and efficiencies.
Lead and ensure the successful day-to-day operations of the plant.
Establish safety procedures and protocols that take the workers' well-being into account, and that also minimize the carbon footprint.
Keep abreast of advancements in engineering and production and share knowledge with co-workers.
Analyze all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement.
Assist in reviewing and calculating labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision-making.
Ensure safety policies are being adhered to in the plant.
Encourage and promote operations in a continuous improvement environment.
Further, the Beneficiary will be responsible for ensuring all production paperwork is completed accurately and promptly, identifying, documenting, and reporting unsafe practices, assisting in creating production schedules and budgets for projects, working with the Plant Manager and management team on the implementation, recording, and oversight of KPIs for each department, analyzing workforce requirements and guidance to all departments and consulting with vendors to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labor required.
